REGEN™ bioplastics, sold by Bosk Bioproducts (Bosk), a Quebec-based company specialized in bioplastics, are now certified by TÜV Austria as industrially compostable as well as four-star biobased.
Biobased: A four stars certificate is the highest distinction of the TÜV Austria. The certification confirm to consumers that the products are made from materials of renewable origin and certifies the quality of their renewability. The evaluation method behind the certification is a scientific analysis of carbon 14, which allows to know the absolute age of the material. The higher the specified percentage of renewable raw materials (biobased percentage), the higher the star certification. TUV Austria certifications are rated from one to four stars, the fourth being the best certification.
 
Compostable: OK compost INDUSTRIAL (EN 13432) is a certification that guarantees that the products, including all their components, inks and additives included, are biodegradable in an industrial composting center. The certification is based on EN 13432:2000. This European standard describes the requirements for packaging that can be recovered through composting and biodegradation. Any product bearing the OK compost INDUSTRIAL logo therefore meets the requirements of the European Packaging Directive (94/62/EC)

Bosk Bioproducts features in Natural Products Canada’s first female-focused report for International Women’s Day

 (March 8, 2023 – Québec, Québec) – Bosk Bioproducts (BOSK) is thrilled to announce their inclusion in Game Changers: Leading Companies. Powered by Women, an initiative led by Natural Products Canada (NPC).  This new list of over 100 companies provides an interesting look at the women leading Canada’s growing natural and bio-based industries. BOSK is recognized for its compostable and bio-based bioplastics intended to substitute petrochemical plastics in multiple applications such as 3D printing filaments or cosmetic packaging.

Unfortunately, today's biodegradable plastics often have prerequisites for degradability that make them truly compostable in a limited range of conditions," said Laurence Boudreault, General Manager of BOSK BIOPRODUITS. "This investment will enable us to finalize the proof-of-concept of our project to develop a formulation, based on polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) and wood by-products, in order to develop bioplastics that can be used in the production of various plastic objects, in accordance with recognized standards of compostability ".
